A: Im Rahmen des Ausbaus durch das Förderprogramm und der Initiative der Gemeinden der M-EA-N-S, ist Ihr Anschluss im Aktionszeitraum kostenfrei. Für alle Anschlüsse, die nach dem Förderprogramm realisiert werden sollen, müssen die Kosten selbst getragen werden.
Für jedes Grundstück/Haus, das angeschlossen werden soll, muss vom Eigentümer (Mieter reicht nicht) ein Grundstücks- und Hausanschlussvertrag mit der Gemeinde abgeschlossen werden, in dem der Eigentümer der Nutzung seines Grundstücks zustimmt.
Dieser Vertrag wird Ihnen, sobald die Feinplanung der entsprechenden Ausbauphase beginnt, zugesandt.
Innerhalb der gesetzten Frist sollte eine Rückmeldung erfolgen. Dies gilt auch für anzuschließende noch unbebaute Grundstücke.
Um die Glasfaser nach Ausbau nutzen zu können, muss vom Endnutzer ein entsprechender Vertrag mit dem Netzbetreiber abgeschlossen werden.
A: Grundsätzlich ja, Voraussetzung ist jedoch, dass die Baukosten vom Eigentümer übernommen werden.
A: Das Netz soll durch die VEGAnet betrieben werden, mit der ein Vertrag abgeschlossen werden muss.
A: Grundsätzlich wird der Anschluss in den Keller des Gebäudes verlegt. Bis zu der Position des Routers im Gebäude muss ein Leitungsweg in Form von Leerrohren oder Kabelkanälen bestehen, um die Glasfaser bis in Ihre Nutzräume zu bringen.
Diese sollte der Eigentümer bereits im Vorfeld erstellen, um Mehraufwände zu vermeiden.
A: Ja, wir empfehlen jedoch: Überlassen Sie dies dem bevorstehenden Provider, dadurch können Sie auch im selben Zuge die Rufnummer-Mitnahme abwickeln (siehe Rufnummer-Mitnahme).
Eine Nutzung des Telefon- und Internetanschlusses wird dann in der Regel möglich sein, sofern Sie die Hausverkabelung (siehe Inhouse Verkabelung) geleistet haben.
A: Dies hängt von den Kündigungsfristen Ihrer Altverträge (bei Ihrem bisherigen Telefon-/Internetanbieter) ab, sofern Sie Altverträge haben und Ihre bisherige Telefonnummer mitnehmen möchten (Portierung). Die technische Inbetriebnahme wird in Abhängigkeit des Fortschritts der Baumaßnahmen erfolgen.
A: Eine bestehende Kupfer-Verkabelung reicht nicht aus, um den kommenden Glasfaser-Anschluss damit zu betreiben. Die effizienteste Lösung ist, einen Kabelweg für das zukünftige Glasfaser vorab herzustellen (siehe Inhouse Verkabelung).
A: Wir möchten darauf hinweisen, dass für Sie die Hausverkabelung eine wichtige Rolle spielt. Der Hausübergabepunkt wird bei Ihnen im Keller angebracht. Sofern dort auch der Router installiert werden soll, brauchen Sie nichts weiter zu unternehmen. In den meisten Fällen soll der Router jedoch an ggf. verkabelte Geräte wie PC, Laptop, Drucker o.Ä. direkt anbinden und dort der Anschluss schlussendlich installiert werden. Falls letzteres zutrifft, bitten wir Sie darum, vorab eine Trasse in Form von durchgängigen Leerrohren und/oder Kabelkanälen zu installieren.
A: Generell können Sie Ihre vorhandene Festnetznummer(n)* zum neuen Anbieter migrieren. Hierzu empfehlen wir, auch die Kündigung des alten Telefonanschlusses über diesen Anbieter abzuwickeln.
*Falls Sie drei oder mehr Telefonnummern besitzen, ist das grundsätzlich kein Problem, jedoch ist die ausgewählte Option der zu nutzenden Telefonnummern bei Abschluss des Vertrages zu beachten (bei einigen Providern muss ein Zusatzpaket für weitere Telefonnummern gebucht werden).
A: Nein, sofern Sie Ihre Kündigung über den zukünftigen Provider arrangiert haben, beginnt der neue Vertrag erst nach Ablauffrist des Altvertrages. Es sei denn, Sie wollen schon vorzeitig mit schnellerem Internet surfen. In diesem Fall sollten Sie Rücksprache mit Ihrem kommenden Anbieter halten bzgl. der Rufnummer-Mitnahme (sofern Ihnen dies wichtig ist).
A: Router: Dies ist mit dem Anbieter oder einem EDV-Unternehmen zu klären, da bei einem Glasfaseranschluss gewisse Mindestanforderungen gelten, um die volle Bandbreite zu gewährleisten.
Telefon: Analoge Geräte können Sie weiterhin verwenden, unter Umständen auch Ihre ISDN-Anlage oder Telefone. Hierzu halten Sie bitte Rücksprache mit dem Anbieter oder einem EDV-Unternehmen.
Fax: Da es sich bei den meisten Faxgeräten um Analogtechnik handelt, können Sie diese weiterhin betreiben. Falls Sie sich nicht sicher sind, welche Technik Ihr Fax verwendet, empfehlen wir Rücksprache mit einem EDV-Unternehmen.
A: Nein, es muss kein Rückbau erfolgen. Der Anschluss bleibt einfach ungenutzt.
A: Nein, denn ein Glasfaserkabel hat kaum Dämpfungswerte, wie vergleichsweise Kupfer. Sie bekommen daher definitiv die bestellte Geschwindigkeit.
A: Diese sogenannten Voice over Internet Protocol-Anschlüsse (kurz VoIP) werden direkt über den Internetdienst ausgeführt. Dennoch ist hier die Qualität keinesfalls schlechter oder gar schlecht. Durch den Quality of Service-Dienst (kurz QoS) wird die Gesprächsqualität sogar besser, da dieser Dienst dafür sorgt, dass die Sprachqualität bei Telefonaten sowie online-Meetings über Plattformen wie Skype, Teams, Zoom, etc. eine gewisse Priorität erhalten, um die Qualität zu gewährleisten. Dennoch gilt zu unterscheiden, dass reine Telefonate eine P2P-Verschlüsselung (Point to Point, dt.: Punkt-zu-Punkt) besitzen und auch nicht über das öffentliche Internet geleitet werden.

A: As part of the broadband expansion through the support programme of the German Government and the initiative of the municipalities of the M-EA-N-S, your connection is free of charge during the campaign period. For all connections that are to be realized after the promotion programme, the costs must be covered by yourself.
For each plot/house that is to be connected, the owner (tenant is not sufficient) must conclude a plot and house connection contract with the municipality in which the owner agrees to the use of his plot. This contract will be sent to you as soon as the detailed planning of the corresponding expansion phase begins. A response should be received within the set deadline. This also applies to plots to be connected that are still undeveloped. In order to be able to use the optical fiber after expansion, the end user must conclude a corresponding contract with the network operator.
A: In principle, yes, but the prerequisite is that the construction costs have to be covered by the owner.
A: The network is to be operated by VEGAnet, with whom a contract must be concluded.
A: Basically, the connection is laid in the basement of the building. Up to the position of the router in the building, there must be a line path in the form of empty conduits or cable ducts to bring the fiber optic cable to your utility rooms. The owner should create these in advance to avoid additional expenses.
A: Yes, but we recommend that you allow your future provider to do this for you so that you can also transfer your telephone number at the same time (see Transferring your telephone number). it will be possible to use the new telephone and Internet connection, as long as you have carried out the in-house cabling (see In-house cabling).
A: This depends on the notice periods of your old contracts (with your previous telephone/Internet provider), if you have old contracts and want to take your previous telephone number with you (porting). The technical commissioning of your fiber connection will depend on the progress of the construction work.
A: An existing copper cabling is not sufficient to operate the coming fiber optic connection with it. The most efficient solution is to create a cable path for the future fiber in advance (see in-house cabling).
A: We would like to point out that the house wiring plays an important role for you. The house transfer point will be installed in your basement. If the router is also to be installed there, you do not need to do anything else. In most cases, however, the router should be connected directly to any wired devices such as PCs, laptops, printers, etc., and the connection should finally be installed there. If the latter is the case, please install a route in advance in the form of continuous empty conduits and/or cable ducts.
A: In general, you can migrate your existing fixed network number(s)* to the new provider. We recommend that you also terminate your old telephone connection via this provider.
*If you have three or more telephone numbers, this is basically not a problem, but the selected option of the telephone numbers to be used must be considered when concluding the contract (with some providers, an additional package for further telephone numbers must be booked).
A: No, as long as you have arranged your termination via the future provider, the new contract will only start after the expiration period of the old contract. Unless you want to surf with faster internet ahead of time. In this case, you should consult with your future provider regarding the number portability (if this is important to you).
A: Router: This must be clarified with the provider or an IT company, as certain minimum requirements apply to a fiber optic connection in order to guarantee the full bandwidth.
Telephone: You can continue to use analogue devices, possibly also your ISDN system or telephones. Please consult the provider or an IT company about this.
Fax: Since most fax machines are analogue, you can continue to use them. If you are not sure which technology your fax uses, we recommend consulting an IT company.
A: No, there is no need for dismantling. The connection simply remains unused.
A: No, because a fiber optic cable has hardly any attenuation values, like copper comparatively. You will therefore definitely get the speed you ordered.
A: These so-called Voice over Internet Protocol connections (VoIP for short) are carried out directly via the Internet service. Nevertheless, the quality here is by no means worse or even poor. The Quality of Service (QoS for short) even improves the call quality, as this service ensures that the voice quality of telephone calls as well as online meetings via platforms such as Skype, Teams, Zoom, etc. are given a certain priority in order to guarantee quality. In any case, it is important to distinguish that pure telephone calls have P2P (point-to-point) encryption and are also not routed via the public internet.
